Remembering PO Wren Telegraphist Ellen Whittall
During this period of national mourning, today marks the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth and sadly the death of POWren Telegraphist Ellen Whittall who was the only fatality of the German attack.
She is buried in an official war grave in Plymouth and a plaque was placed in BRNC near to where she fell and unveiled by His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent in 2005.
