Welcome to our Website.  If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern the ASSOCIATION OF WRENS (AOW) relationship with you in connection with this website.

The term “Association of Wrens” or “us” or “we” refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is Room 215, Semaphore Tower (PP70), HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, PO1 3LT.  The term “you” refers to the user or viewer of our website.

Use of this site is provided by the Association of Wrens (AOW) subject to the following terms and conditions:

Your use of this website constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions as at the date of your first use of the site.  The AOW reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online.  Your continued use of this site after changes are posted, constitute your acceptance of this agreement as modified.

The content of the pages of this website is for your general information and use only.  It is subject to change without notice.

Neither we nor any third parties provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information found or offered on this website for any particular purpose.  You acknowledge that such information may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Your use of any information or materials on this website is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable.

You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes and in a manner which does not infringe the rights, or restrict, or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the site by any third party.

You must not copy, store in a retrieval system or transmit in any form or by any means any part of the website to any third party without the written permission of the AOW.

By using the AOW website you agree to use it for only lawful purposes and in a way which will not harm anyone else.  The AOW is happy for you to download information for your own use, but prohibit you from putting our information onto another website or to use the information you obtain for commercial gain.  If you download words or pictures, please make sure you acknowledge their source as the AOW will usually hold the copyright.  If you download a picture or information where the AOW does NOT hold the copyright, please check with the copyright holder first for their permission.

When using the AOW website you acknowledge that you are responsible for all activities which occur under your Username.  In particular, but without limitation, you agree not to upload, post or otherwise display content which is or promotes behaviour which violates the rights (including, without limitation, the intellectual property rights) of a third party or which is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, offensive,  defamatory and invasive of another’s privacy, or contains any illegal content.

If you become aware of any actual, threatened or suspected unauthorised use of your Username and/or any other breach of security, you agree to notify us immediately. You may cancel your account with us at any time and we may terminate your account with us for any or no reason, at any time, with or without notice and without liability.

We may (but shall not be obliged to) delete, edit, or remove any content without notice and for any reason and/or to record the Username account from which any content is posted, uploaded and/or displayed without notice and for any reason, including, without limitation, content which in our sole discretion, violates these terms or is, or may be irrelevant, out of date, inappropriate or objectionable in any way whatsoever, brings the AOW in disrepute, or in respect of which the AOW receives any complaint (whether justified or not).

PRIVACY POLICY

The Association of Wrens respects the privacy of every individual who visits our website.  The Privacy Policy outlines the information the Association of Wrens may collect and how we may use that information.

The Association of Wrens database exists to maintain membership details only.  Members details are only what has been supplied by the individual member when joining the Association and from subsequent information provided by them to HQ.  This personal information is not used for any other purpose and is not shared with any other organisation.  The database is protected by password access.

Personal Data

The Association of Wrens will not collect any personally identifiable information about you e.g. your name, address, date of birth, telephone number or email address (“personal data”) through our website unless you have provided it to us voluntarily.  If you do not want your personal data collected, please do not submit it to us.

The Association of Wrens takes the protection of data seriously.  Our database implements safeguards in accordance with data protection legislation.

When you do provide us with personal data, we may use that information in the following ways, unless stated otherwise:

We may store and process that information to better understand your needs and how we can improve our services
We (or a third person in connection with a cause) may use that information to contact you
And/or we may provide other third parties with summary – but not individual – information about visitors to or users of our website
Additional Information Collected Automatically
In some cases, we may automatically (i.e. not via registration) collect technical information when you connect to our website that is not personally identifiable.  Examples of this sort of information include the type of Internet Browser you are using; the type of computer operating system you are using and the domain name of the website from which you linked to our website.

Information Placed Automatically on Your PC – Cookies
When you view our website, we may store some information on your computer.  This information will be in the form of ‘Cookies’ or similar file and can help us in many ways.  For example, Cookies allow us to tailor a website to better match your interests and preferences.  With most Internet Browsers, you can erase Cookies from your computer hard drive, block all Cookies or receive a warning before a Cookie is stored.  Please refer to your Browser instructions or help screen to learn more about these functions.

Terms and Conditions regarding Membership and Sales

Subscriptions

Membership of The Association of Wrens is by payment of an Annual Subscription or 10 year membership and/or other related joining or renewal payments.  The Subscription fee is reviewed annually and the Trustees reserve the right to amend as required.  Members will be notified in advance of any increase.  The membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March, membership fees are not reduced for mid-year applications.

Membership may be paid by cheque, Standing Order or SAGE Pay.  You may also send your Credit or Debit card details over the telephone, these details are not stored, nor do we share transaction details with any 3rd party.  (See also our Privacy Policy).  Receipt of your payment will enable us to process your membership application or renewal, we aim to issue new members with their membership card within 28 days.

Failure to renew your subscription will result in your membership being cancelled.  Refund of your subscription will not be made if you decide that you no longer wish to be a member of the Association of Wrens.

Sales

Members rights regarding the purchase, delivery, exchange, cancellation and refund of goods are as follows and are in line with consumers rights as laid down by HMSO.

Purchase may be made by cash, cheque made payable to The Association of Wrens or credit or debit card (or in due course by SAGE Pay).  Please see statement above re storage of card details.

Delivery – purchased items will be packaged as soon as possible following receipt of your order and will be distributed by Royal Mail, if not received in 28 days please contact HQ.  Once your order has been despatched you may not make any changes to the items ordered or cancel the order.

Exchange –If the item or its size is not as specified you may exchange the item or return it for a refund.  If the item arrives broken you should notify us immediately to arrange replacement or a refund.  If your order arrives too late you may return it for a refund.

Returns – If returning items for exchange or refund it is recommend that you obtain a proof of postage from your shipper or the Post Office in case there are any problems in transit. Without this we cannot be responsible for any items that fail to reach us. We always try to process returns as soon as they arrive. However, during busy periods, please allow up to 28 days for your return or exchange to be processed.  If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because it is damaged or defective, we are happy to also refund your postage costs.
