On This Day…

On this day we remember two young Wrens. Friends, Joan Duncan and Edith Farmer had just joined the WRNS on 18th June 1944 and decided to go to a service in the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks afterwards. During the service a V1 bomb fell on the chapel killing 121 servicemen and civilians and injuring another 141.  They are buried in a joint grave in Romford.
