New CO for HMS Raleigh

HMS RALEIGH has welcomed their new Commanding Officer to the establishment today.

Captain Jane Roe was greeted by a Guard of Honour made up of recruits from Cunningham 22/07 entry who complete their 10-week Initial Naval Training course later this week.

As an ex Naval Rating herself, Captain Roe is no stranger to HMS RALEIGH having joined as a recruit in September 1991 and having later served as a Divisional Training Officer within Initial Naval Training.

Captain Roe said ‘I am genuinely excited to return to HMS RALEIGH as the new Captain. It is such a huge honour and privilege for me to assume Command of the Training Establishment that I joined at the beginning of my Naval career.

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and leading the amazing HMS RALEIGH team in continuing to deliver first class training fit for a Royal Navy which is Global, Modern and Ready.

Building on the outstanding work of my predecessor, I will ensure that HMS RALEIGH remains a great team to be part of and that we continue to be a vibrant part of the local community.’

Captain Roe assumes Command from Captain Suzi Nielsen OBE who has just started the Royal College of Defence Studies course in London.
