Morag Robinson (nee Speed) joined the Wrens in 1965 a couragous move for someone who was quite a quiet and naive young women, however it was the making of her. She completed her training at HMS Dauntless and then focussed as a communicator at HMS Mercury having her first draft at HMS Heron. She rose through the ranks quickly, enabling her to be part of the initial group of Wrens who went to Mauritius. She left the Wrens 8 years later and became a wife and mother to her adoring children Ian and Sarah. The experience of travel and the development of her courage and confidence that the Wrens provided for Morag, continued throughout her life where she was able to experience many different countries and cultures including Brunei, Saba, Nepal and Australia to name but a few.

She always had a positive outlook on her life and fought all challenges with dignity, determination and that positive attitude. Unfortunately the last health challenge she faced was not to be successful and she was taken from us on the 25th March 2026 aged 81 surrounded by her loving family.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
