Mum started in the WRNs in 1958 and I believe when she wanted to join up (it was just before her 18th birthday) she had to get my grandfather’s permission. She joined just a few weeks after to HMS Dauntless . There were two Marion Whites so Mum became Snowy so people knew who they were talking to! Mum loved her time in the WRNs although short (because in those days once you married you had to leave)  My Dad Jack Corser who was in the Navy and the longest serving sail maker met mum while they were both in the Navy/WRNs although they both came from the West Midlands Shirley  Solihull and they lived around the corner from each other and possibly went to the same shops or even passed each other in the street.  Sherren Corser – Daughter
