Lena Ellen Aldous, née Turner, died on January 25th, aged 101.

Lena joined the Wrens in 1942 at Newcastle-on-Tyne as a steward and was discharged in July 1946 at  Rushcutters  Bay Naval HQ in Sydney.  She served at HMS Skirmisher, Milford Haven and Westcliff -on-Sea before an overseas draft to HMS Golden Hind in Sydney.

She was a very popular member of Adelaide Wrens and attended meetings  until 5 years ago. One comment received after notifying past members of her death was “I really enjoyed her quick mind and insight into the world and her friendliness was outstanding”  RIP Lena.
