Kathlyn Bray, née Mason
Kathlyn passed away peacefully on 14th February 2021.
She joined the Wrens on 12 July 1949 and served in Portsmouth in the pay office and also with the Malta station RN in Valetta, Malta. She was discharged on 19 March 1954. Kathlyn was the only one of six sisters who joined up and was very proud to have served as a Wren.
Kathlyn was married for 54 years to William (Bill) Bray who was a Royal Marine when they met. They had three daughters and were blessed with four grandchildren.
Kathlyn met up with some old pals when she went to her dearest friend’s 90th Birthday party in Portsmouth in 2019. Kathlyn met Joan Weight née Williams at Reading station on the day they both joined up and have remained close friends all this time.
