Holocaust Memorial Day
Today is Holocaust Memorial Day, remembering more than six million victims of Nazi genocide, more than one million of them killed in Auschwitz alone, liberated on this day 75 years ago.
Almost unknown is the story of the sailors of Auschwitz. At least one Royal Navy sailor was killed in the camp, while a seafaring surgeon survived the horrors.
