As Chairman of The Association of Wrens I am writing to send my deepest condolences to the WRAC on the sad passing of Betty Webb MBE one of your long standing and highly valued member of your Association. Through her time in the ATS, as a WRAC Veteran, and of course her time as a Bletchley Code Breaker, what an amazing WW2 lady she was and how she was a champion of female veterans to which we can relate with our own Association. It is very poignant that in this important year with the 80th Anniversary of VE and VJ Day that we should lose such a special lady who up until now had been such an inspiration to not only the women in the Army for decades but also in the other female veteran services. Her memory will live on for many years to come. I am sure her name will continue to be remembered in the work of our female veterans throughout this year and beyond.
