Death Notification of L/Wren Dora Tagg (nee Rushton) 11 August 2026

Dora was a Leading Wren Writer (P)  1948-1951, her name was Dora Ciceley Rushton when she was in the service, her married name was Dora Tagg.

She performed gymnastics at the Royal Tournament whilst serving and her time in the Wrens were the happiest in her life.

She unfortunately had to leave when her mother became very ill and she had to return to the family farm to help out, otherwise family believe she would have become a career Wren!

Dora fell and broken her hip the previous Friday and despite the surgery being successful, she struggled to recover. She was awake to advise the nurses that it was her 97th birthday but she later passed away peacefully without pain or distress that same day.

Dora was a force of nature and will be greatly missed.
