HRH The Princess Royal joined former Wrens, serving personnel and guests at HMS Eaglet in Liverpool for the WRNS Benevolent Trust Annual Presentation, celebrating the extraordinary contribution of generations of women who have served in the Naval Services.
It was a truly special day, bringing together members of the WRNS family from across the UK to recognise their remarkable legacy and the continuing work of the WRNS Benevolent Trust in supporting former Wrens.
Among the highlights was the attendance of 103-year-old Second World War Wren Janet Gardner, whose incredible wartime service inspired everyone present, and a moving presentation from The Valkyries, the all-female Royal Navy crew who recently completed a transatlantic rowing expedition, drawing powerful connections between their challenge and the courage and determination of the Wrens who came before them.
We were honoured to welcome HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of the WRNS Benevolent Trust, who met beneficiaries, volunteers and trustees to learn more about the Trust’s work preserving the heritage of the WRNS and supporting former Wrens.
