Women’s History Month
In 2004, Commodore Carolyn Stait CBE was the 1st woman to command a UK Naval Base (HMNB Clyde, home of the UK’s nuclear deterrent) & became the 1st woman to be selectively promoted to the rank of Commodore. Although there are now five serving female Commodores, to date, no other serving women has exceeded this rank.
