US Meritorious Service Medal Awarded

Commander Rachel Smallwood has received the US Meritorious Service Medal from US Lieutenant General John Deedrick for her efforts over the past seven months in Afghanistan.

The 44-year-old returns home to the Isle of Wight this weekend, her mission complete, having played a key role in making Afghan defence and security forces are more effective and better value for money.
