St Mary Le Strand Church Needs Your Help!

The Wrens’ Church of St Mary le Strand in London is looking for volunteers to help in showing visitors around the church.  They are already seeing 50 – 60 visitors a day and expect more once the Strand is fully pedestrianised.  They would love to have some Wrens on their stewarding roll, particularly if you have an interest in people, history and architecture to welcome visitors and help them to appreciate this lovely church.  Many of you have already been to Carol Services in the church so are familiar with it.

There will be a special tour and talk on Saturday 18th June between 1000 – 1200 for potential stewards by Canon Peter Babington and Peter Maplestone to give you useful information about the church.   Peter Maplestone has been a Church Warden in SMLS for a number of years and has written a book about the church and its history which was published in 2019 – there is a chapter about the WRNS!
