On This Day 1810, Vice Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood died on his flagship HMS VILLE DE PARIS in the Mediterranean. Collingwood was second in command to Nelson at Trafalgar & fought in several famous battles against the French, Spanish and Americans. A remarkable Royal Navy Officer.
