First Sailing Of HMS Audacious
HMS Audacious – the fourth of seven Astute-class hunter-killers – has departed Barrow, where workers at BAE Systems have toiled on her construction and fitting out for 11 years.
The boat was formally transferred to the Royal Navy on Friday and the Blue Ensign replaced on the flagstaff by the White.
She’s now on her maiden voyage through the Irish Sea to her home base of Faslane.
