14th - 21st: Remembrance Expedition Le Chemin De La Liberte' (Freedom Trail)
Suzanne Dando. Former British Gymnastics Champion. Captain of Moscow Olympics Gymnastic Team. Television Broadcaster is leading a team of women walking from France to Spain across the high peaks of the Pyrennes in aid of RBL. Team includes: Lt Cdr Penny Clark: Royal Navy. Olympic Yachtswoman. 10th Beijing Olympics.
Kate Nesbitt MC: Royal Navy medic. Only second female of the Armed services to be awarded the Military cross.
18th: Swindon Branch 25th Anniversary lunch
12 noon at the Lawn Community Centre, Guildford Avenue. A deposit of £10 to secure your place will be refunded on the day due to a successful Lottery application. For further details and reservations see the June Wren magazine or contact HQ. NB Those who have already paid the full price will receive a refund ASAP.
20th: Don't miss Yeovil Branch Eggheads Team on BBC2 TV at 6pm
We've been waiting for months! The screening date has now been given, please put it in your diary.
Fingers crossed and lots of Brownie points to the famous five (plus reserve) for getting AOW on the box!

1st: Bristol Branch 50th Anniversary lunch
Bristol Branch will be celebrating their 50th anniversary at a lunch to be held in the Bristol Marriott Hotel. Please book with the Bristol Branch secretary before 1st September.
13th: Annual National Service for Seafarers
ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL 5.00pm
Aimed at the entire Maritime Community. If you would like tickets, please send SAE to HQ by Friday 13th August, stating how many tickets you require and/or if wheelchair access is required.
23rd: WRNS Benevolent Trust EGM at VSC London
At 1400 in the Carisbrooke Hall, Victory Services Club, 63/79 Seymour Street, W2

23rd: AOW AGM
Annual General Meeting at the Victory Services Club, Marble Arch (after the WRNS BT EGM) at approximately 2.30pm. Everyone welcome. There will be a raffle (donations welcome!). Anyone wishing to serve on the Council should send in nomination forms to HQ by 31st July (see p4 of June Wren magazinefor details).
29th: Derbyshire Dales Branch Coffee Morning
Hosted by Derbyshire Dales Branch of the AOW and held at the Council House Derby (corner of Corporation St and Derwent St) this coffee morning is open to all - 10am to noon. Enquiries via the AOW secretary.
